Introduction
As we know Ramayana is a Hindu mythological story which tells the story of Lord Rama’s exile and the abduction of Sita by Ravana. The director of Ramayana movie is Nitesh Tiwari who has given many hit movies like Dangal (2016), Chhichhore (2019). This film has two parts, Part 1 and Part 2, the first part will come in 2026 and the second in 2027, Ranbir Kapoor will play the role of Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi will play the role of Sita and Yash will play the role of Ravana.
What is Ramayana?
Ramayana is an ancient Hindu epic that tells the story of the life of Lord Rama. It was composed by Maharishi Valmiki. In it, Lord Rama is exiled for 14 years by his mother, but his wife Sita and his brother Lakshmana also accompany him.
During his exile Sri Rama’s wife Sita was kidnapped by the demon Ravana, due to which Sri Rama and his brothers and many other associates went to Ravana’s kingdom Sri Lanka to get Sita back and finally Sri Rama killed the demon Ravana and returned to Ayodhya with his wife Sita and his brother Lakshmana. This is a book which inspires us to follow the path of truth.
Will Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayan be exactly like our epic Ramayan?
Though Nitesh Tiwari has not yet given any exact proof that this movie will be like our ancient epic Ramayana, but Ramayan movie director Nitesh Tiwari is making this movie in two parts (Part-1-2), it looks like this movie will be just like the epic Ramayan.
Will Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana be the same as Ramanand Sagar’s Ramayana?
Ramanand Sagar’s Ramayana is based on Indian ancient Ramayana in which everything from the birth of Rama to the end of Ravana and Uttar Ramayana (the story of Rama’s son Lav and Kush) has been shown. Ramanand Sagar’s Ramayana had a total of 78 episodes, each episode was about 35 minutes long and it takes about 45 hours 50 minutes to complete it.
But Nitesh Tiwari has announced that his Ramayan will be made in only two parts in which each part will be of 2-3 hours, which shows that combining both the parts, Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayan is going to be around 6-7 hours long. From which it becomes clear that Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana will not be exactly like Ramanand Sagar’s Ramayana.

Ramayana Movie Budget & Shooting Locations
Ramayan movie is going to be the biggest movie of India whose budget and location details are given below.
Budget:
The budget of the Ramayan film is going to be the highest not only in India but in the whole world as the budget of this film is going to be around Rs 4000 crore (500 million dollars). This is not a fake news as Ramayan movie producer Namit Malhotra officially said in an interview that “Both Part 1 and Part 2 will be made in Rs 4000 crore including its advertisement, VFX and other ways”.
The film is set to become the most expensive film ever made, surpassing all other high-budget films like Star Wars: The Force Awakens ($447 million), Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom ($432 million) and other movies.
Shooting Location:
The film is being shot mostly in Mumbai, India, but the battle between King Ravana and Lord Rama is being shot at Aksa Beach in Mumbai. Studio work is being done at Dahisar Studios in Mumbai. According to some reports, the Lanka portion of the film will be shot in London and may also be shot at the Mahakaleshwar Temple in Ujjain.
Ramayana movie Release date and Technology
Ramayana movie release date is on Indian festival Diwali and the technology used in it is VFX, here all the details are given below-
Release Date:
The film has two parts, both of which will be released on Diwali. Part-1 will be released on Diwali 2026 and Part-2 will be released on Diwali 2027. The film is being shot in IMAX for a worldwide release. For this, this film will be dubbed in all other languages like – English, Japanese etc.
Technology:
The Ramayan movie will have both VFX and CGI and will be developed by London-based DNEG, whose CEO and producer of the film is Namit Malhotra. This company had received 7 Oscar awards for good VFX and CGI etc. for movies like Interstellar, Tenet etc.
Yash’s studio Monster Mind Creations and Prime Focus Studios are working together on the Ramayan film.
